Book 1 of 12 in Alex Rider series
Hi everyone!
Back today with a new book review for you. This one takes a look at the first book in the popular Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz, called Stormbreaker. I’d heard lots about the series and had even been told that it was similar to the Max Cassidy trilogy, two of which I’ve already reviewed here (Escape from Shadow Island and Jaws of Death); so I was really looking forward to sinking my bookmonster teeth into this first book. And it didn’t disappoint! The book is jam-packed with action and adventure. Alex is a seemingly normal 14-year-old guy who is recruited by MI-6 (oops, I accidentally said “M-sixteen” in the video – sorry!) after his spy uncle dies under suspicious circumstances. Alex is tasked with finishing his uncle’s mission, but not before he has to complete a super intensive training programme to get him spy-ready. Full of twists and turns, this novel will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. And once you start the series, there’s no stopping – you have to get the next one and the next one and the next one!
